DC Media Lovers: Register For The Free Press Summit Now

The 2010 Free Press Summit is next month, and if you dig discussions on journalism, public media and the Internet, and if you’re in or around DC, come on down.

The theme this year is “Ideas To Action.” If last year’s schedule was any indication (speeches from NPR president Vivian Schiller, NewsHour correspondent Ray Suarez, and one current and two former chairmen of the FCC), the event will focus about half on new ways for journalism to reach more people and half on telecom policy and Net Neutrality, so this year’s lineup should have a lot to talk about.

The event is May 11 and it’s free and open to the public with registration. Of course, if you can’t make it, we’ll be covering it here and on Twitter for you. If you can make it, seek this blogger out and we’ll have a mini, unsanctioned mediabistro party.
