David Shaw, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and media-scene staple, dies at 62

Sad news from Los Angeles: LA Times media, food and wine columnist David Shaw died last night from complications from a brain tumor that was diagnosed in May. Shaw had a long and lively career in journalism, breaking the stories (and the stories about the stories) while cheerfully ruffling a few feathers along the way (an important one stuck in his cap: his 1991 Pulitzer for critcism for his series examining coverage of a high-profile molestation case involving allegations of sexual abuse at the McMartin pre-school in Manhattan Beach).
