Dave Zinczenko Grabs More Power at Rodale

'Men's Health' editor to assume oversight of 'Prevention,' 'Organic Gardening'

In another leadership shakeup at Rodale, the health and fitness publisher has given Men’s Health editor Dave Zinczenko editorial oversight of Prevention and Organic Gardening.

He’ll continue in his role at Men’s Health and as editorial director of Women’s Health and take the new title of executive vice president.

Zinczenko said one of his first tasks would be to shake things up at Prevention, in part by better integrating its print and Web staff.

Prevention can take better advantage of its demographic position,” he said. “Rodale was feeling like, the population is getting older and heavier, and they should be flocking to Prevention in droves. I want to see everything improve.”

Zinczenko's rise follows the recent departure of Bill Stump, a longtime editorial executive who left in June after 13 years with the company.

Recently, Rodale also lost Jack Essig, its longtime Men’s Health publisher, to Hearst, where he was named senior vice president, publishing director.

Senior vice president David Willey continues to run Rodale’s enthusiast titles Runner’s World, Bicycling, and Running Times.
