College Crowd Loves Its Gadgets, per eMarketer

NEW YORK Among the 18 million college students in the U.S., almost all are online; in fact, 55 percent of students in an MTV-Associated Press survey said the Internet is so important to their daily life, they can’t imagine living without it.

Another study reflects the high level of ownership of consumer electronics among this group.

Nearly 100 percent own mobile phones, 80 percent own a laptop computer and 34.7 percent own a desktop model. That overlap indicates that some students own both.
