CBS News Correspondent Mason Likes Generalists
Anthony Mason spoke to Marketwatch about what it’s like to work as a CBS News Correspondent, and he gave some advice to those looking to get on television.
While many people focus on specializing and forming a niche for oneself, Mason disagrees with that notion. “I’ve been a foreign correspondent,” said Mason.
“I’ve been a business reporter. I cover music. I like the fact that I know a lot about a lot of different things, so I can take something and put it in perspective.”
He also had some advice for college students thinking of getting into the business.
