Cablevision Wants to Turn Your iPad Into a TV Set
On today’s Cablevision earnings call, COO Tom Rutledge said that the company is looking into technology to turn devices like the Apple iPad into, essentially, television sets. Live TV could be streamed to any device, provided of course that you pay Cablevision for the privilege.
The news comes the same day that DISH Network says it will soon be offering a similar product at no extra charge to its customers… provided they buy the necessary hardware, such as a Sling Media SlingBox.
