Bluepulse Adds More Social Features, Hires CTO

bluepulse.jpgMobile social networking start-up Bluepulse unveiled a host of new features and functionality at CTIA, including easy friend importing from Web mail, daily summary notifications and new emoticons.

Bluepulse members can now import their contact lists from Gmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL and Hotmail and connect with them via Bluepulse. The summary notifications, delivered either by e-mail or SMS, let users know what their friends have been up to on Bluepulse since they last logged in.

The company also hired Christopher Nguyen, most recently the engineering director for Google Apps, as CTO and VP of engineering.

“As we continue to grow the business, our technological roadmap is one of our top priorities. Attracting top talent like Christopher is key to our strategy,” Bluepulse founder and CEO Ben Keighran said in a statement. “Over the past year we’ve brought on new employees from Amazon, Yahoo and Google; I’m very happy to see that Bluepulse is proving to be an attractive ‘next step’ for Silicon Valley veterans.”
