Apple To Launch Mac App Store January 6th

Publishers and authors get your book apps ready. Apple’s Mac App Store, for desktop computers running the Mac OS X Snow Leopard software, will open on Thursday, January 6th.

The new app store will let consumers buy apps to use on their computers. It will be available in 90 countries and like on the iPhone and the iPad, it will include free apps in categories such as Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity and Utilities.

Like on the iPhone and the iPad, consumers can buy apps and download them immediately to their computers.
