Memo announcing the changes after the jump.

We are pleased to announce two new additions to the Opinions team: Anup Kaphle and Sarah Lovenheim. Anup recently joined us from Atlantic Media. As a digital media fellow there, he helped to launch an opinions aggregator, implemented various social media applications, and edited photos, video, graphics and text. He also made his way to Afghanistan on a South Asian Journalists Association Reporting fellowship and came back with fascinating photos and video. Born and raised in Nepal, Anup went to Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn. and earned a graduate degree in new media from Columbia J-school. Sarah will be crossing the news-opinion divide in January after three years with Politics, where she gained a reputation as someone brimming with energy and ideas. Her recent projects include the Political Stump/Who Runs Gov? quizzes and the searchable Obama speech database. She also demonstrated her versatility during the 2008 election: co-hosting the Post Politics podcast, shooting video at campaign events, building out various special report pages and maintaining the Presidential Campaign Tracker widget. A native of Rochester, NY, Sarah went to college at GW, worked as a producer at National Journal’s Hotline and is close to finishing her master’s in government and political communications at SAIS. Both Anup and Sarah will be working as editor-producers in Opinions. We’ll be looking to them to conceive and implement ideas that get readers more involved in the conversation, that provide context and depth to our content, and that leverage new applications and technologies to make the section more dynamic, more influential, more interesting and more fun.
