All the News That's Fit to Google?

Who will buy the New York Times? Technically speaking of course it is not for sale, but as their financial struggles continue to make headlines so does speculation as to who might be gunning for ownership. Rupert Murdoch and Michael Bloomberg are among the names that have been tossed around, but what about Google?! That’s what Andrew Sargus Klein is suggesting.

It would give Google an even more highly integrated advertising model; if Google distributes the Times, it takes in the paper’s ad revenue while also moving the medium away from dead trees; the Times’ push to personalize content couldn’t be better supported by Google; the Times’ product — the news — is priceless, and it would benefit Google and the rest of us if it stayed available.
