AKPD Media, Gov. Quinn Part Ways; Joe Slade White Hired

AKPD Media, the public relations firm started by President Obama’s senior advisor David Axelrod, has split with Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Quinn “has been frustrating media advisors for decades because of his go-his-own-way campaign style.”

The story cited TheCapitolFaxBlog, which had an AKPD quote saying:

We and the Quinn campaign agreed that our divergent approaches to disciplined, professional communications are incompatible. We wish Pat well.

A spokeswoman for Quinn told the Sun-Times Joe Slade White has been hired instead.
