You might be familiar with my Adobe Flash bashing in this blog. But, there will be absolutely no bashing of Adobe’s free iPad app:

Adobe Ideas 1.0 for iPad

If you look at the sample screenshots for this app in iTunes, you might think it is a tool for fashion designer, talented doodlers, and photo/drawing mashups. And, you would be right. But, that is only part of the story because I’m going to tell you what I think its main use is going to be: A great portable whiteboard for sketching out and sharing quick notes and diagrams.

It is perfect for impromptu stand-up meetings in hallways and other informal gathering areas. You can pop out your iPad and say, “Hey, let me show you this idea. It will only take a minute”. After writing a few key words, drawing a few diagrams, and tying things together with arrows and other indicators, you can email the “white board”. This white board diagram shows up in an email box as a PDF file that can be printed or stored.

I promoted this app to the home page on my iPad because I think it is going to be one of my key mobile tools.
