‘The Bachelor’ Features D.C. Political Consultant

ABC’s “The Bachelor’s” 2013 season premiered last night and there’s a 25-year-old D.C. resident named “Lesley” among the female contestants. She’s a D.C. political consultant who said the only men in Washington are “nerds and politicians” and she hates both. There were lots of shots of D.C. monuments as well as Lesley in a short skirt and sunglasses. Cut to the chase: Yes, she got a rose.

So who is Lesley, where does she work and how did she swing two months off work to try to romance Sean Lowe, the lily white, buff, Christian bachelor from Texas? Come on, dear readers. Help us out with the name of her workplace. Write us at fishbowldc@mediabistro.com or send to Betsy@mediabistro.com. Anonymity guaranteed if you need it to be.

UPDATE: Ahh, well, we got our answer. Politico‘s Patrick Gavin wrote the story back in late September and somehow we missed it damn it. The “lobbyist” — although it’s quite a stretch to call her that as avid Bachelor watcher Reality Steve has — is Lesley Murphy, an executive assistant to Democratic strategist Paul Tewes at New Partners. She took a leave of absence from her job to appear on the show. Read the story here.

There are quirky details to share on Leslie. For starters, she had a “perfect” childhood…

Stats on Leslie: She’s 5’7″ and hails from Arkansas. Reported on ABC.com is a fantastic “cheat sheet” of weird stuff that includes this question: “What is the most romantic present you have ever given? Why?”

Lesley’s answer: “I would always leave notes for my last boyfriend to find in his dresser drawers, on his pillow, in his car, in his suitcase when leaving for a trip.” According to the sheet, Lesley leans toward tidy and requires less than 180 minutes to prep for a date.
