A Name is a Name, By Any Other Name

And one more, so we don’t ruin a good day’s streak: here’s an interesting article on Whitespace: “7 Steps to a Good Company Name.” In it, 9rules’ founder, Paul Scrivens, talks about naming the site in 2003, before a bigger glut of number-first named companies took over the internet. He then goes on to work in a list from Marty Neumeier’s book The Brand Gap; the seven essential things for successfully naming a company. They seem a little obvious, of course, because there’s no sure fire solution to anything. But it’s good to have them right there, staring you in the face, so maybe you’ll actually start to reconsider Blahbloobladohahblab for the name of your company.
