"A javelin through my heart": Hollywood unions in a decathalon of hate
Just in time to further shred the fabric of organized labor, an ugly internecine spat between the IATSE, the crafts union of professional stagehands, and the Writers Guild of America.
Apparently, the Writers Guild wants to represent reality TV writers. (Crazy, I know – a writers union representing writers.) And IATSE chief Tom Short has responded with the measured, controlled speech of a consumate professional:
“How can I work with someone that throws a javelin through my heart?” Short said.
