’41st and Central’ Black Panthers Film Set for Culver City Run

After selling out three screenings at last month’s Pan African Film Festival, winning the Audience Award in the process, “41st & Central: The Untold Story of the Black Panthers” is set for an extended run at the Culver Plaza Theater in Culver City from March 26, to April 1.

We here at FBLA love the film. Every time it screens the theater turns into a makeshift who’s who of the 60’s black power movement. It’s not uncommon to see former Black Panthers holding spontaneous question and answer sessions after the film.

For more info, check out our profile of the film’s director, Gregory Everett, from last year’s LA Weekly “People Issue.”
