Skateboard legend Tony Hawk invested early in Liquid Death, a canned water startup with a punk rock attitude, became an ambassador and even “sold his soul” to the company in a contract that runs “to the ends of the Earth and for the rest of time, including any applicable afterlife, reincarnation or similar post-mortal existence.”

What could possibly be next in his legally binding relationship with the brash, eco-minded brand? Hint: a phlebotomist is involved.

Hawk, who admits he “didn’t read the fine print” of the eternal pact he signed*, gave a vial of his own blood so that Liquid Death could mix it with paint and decorate 100 custom-created skateboards.

The partners announced the limited-edition product today with a video of Hawk getting his blood drawn at his San Diego warehouse and training facility.
