Here's What You Get When An AI Makes a Super Bowl Ad Bingo Card

Now that Adweek’s Super Bowl ad-pitching bot has processed nearly 4,500 descriptions of Big Game commercials, we thought it might have some insight into common tropes to expect during the high-stakes commercial breaks this Sunday.

So we had the AI generate a couple dozen squares for a hypothetical game of Super Bowl ad bingo, drawing on the thousands of ads in its training dataset, a handful of real Super Bowl ad bingo cards to give it a sense of the format, and the millions of websites fed to the underlying neural network—a cutting-edge text generation model called GPT-2.
