A U.K.-based charity is working with tattoo artists to recognize and combat human trafficking.
Medaille Trust, a charity that supports survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, is trying to raise awareness of this problem within the U.K., where there are an estimated 136,000 victims. More than 40 million people around the world are estimated to be trapped in some form of modern slavery, which could include labor and sexual exploitation or domestic servitude.
Many traffickers “brand” their victims with tattoos, which can take the form of names, barcodes or other symbols. For
