Zimmerman Makes Senior Additions

BOSTON Zimmerman Advertising has added three creative directors: Mitchell Wein, Richie Kahn and Jordan Lipton.

All three take new positions at the Omnicom Group-owned Fort Lauderdale, Fla., shop, reporting to executive creative director Zev Auerbach.

The three will work on non-automotive accounts such as Mattress Firm, Paypal, ShopKo, Six Flags, Value City and Wickes Furniture.

ShopKo selected Zimmerman for its creative and media chores this summer following a review [Adweek Online, July 11]. The client spends about $40 million annually on ads. Such recent growth, as well as the desire to improve its overall creative team, prompted the hires.

Wein’s experience includes establishing and expanding his own agency, Vogt/Wein in Westport, Conn., from 1993-2003. During those years, the shop worked for clients such as ESPN, Oxford Health Plans, Samsung and Wellesley College.

Kahn has worked on campaigns for Chili’s, Coca-Cola, General Foods, American Airlines, Chevrolet and General Mills. He also spent three years as vice president of programming at NBC in the 1980s, helping develop shows like Different Strokes, Hill Street Blues and Flamingo Road.

Lipton, an art director, was promoted to his new position. He has also worked at BBDO on the Hormel account and at Best Buy’s in-house agency operations.

Zimmerman, a retail specialist, also operates offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. The agency employs more than 850 staffers nationwide.
