NEW YORK WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam will host former U.S. Vice President Al Gore at its opening seminar during the 54th annual Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, said Hamish McLennan, Y&R’s global CEO.
Gore will speak on environmental issues and then take roughly 10 questions from the audience.
“Ultimately our clients, and the government and the business community, have to take a position,” said McLennan. “Media and advertising are all part of that community and this is a terrific way to elevate this issue.”
