Los Angeles art director Laura Della Sala and writer Julie Curtis have joined as a permanent freelance team.
‘Putting freelance teams together is a big pain,’ Della Sala said. ‘Finally, you get a writer and an art director in. But no matter how good they are individually, they may not make a good team.’
Della Sala and Curtis first met in 1988 at Chiat/Day where they worked as a team.
Della Sala moved to other shops, serving as associate creative director at BBDO/Atlanta, DDB Needham in Los Angeles and Suissa/Miller in Santa Monica, Calif.
Last year, with two children at home, Curtis resigned from what is now TBWA Chiat/Day to freelance.
After a year on her own, Curtis is excited about working with a partner.
