Wyse Wins Marathon Ashland Petroleum

CHICAGO Marathon Ashland Petroleum has named Wyse Advertising its lead agency after a review of undisclosed contenders, according to the client.

“We began with a list of 10 agencies, but Wyse distinguished itself as the best partner for us,” said Craig Weigand, manager of advertising at the Findlay, Ohio, petroleum products supplier, in a statement. “We feel that the combination of Wyse Advertising’s talent with ours will create outstanding and breakthrough results.”

The Cleveland shop has been working with the company on a project basis since late 2003. The shop recently produced a broadcast campaign touting the company’s Marathon Platinum MasterCard. As lead agency, the shop will create a new broadcast, outdoor and print image campaign.

Billings were not disclosed. Marathon Ashland is a division of Marathon Oil Co., which also owns Marathon and Speedway gas stations.
