THE WRITINGS OF SOLOMON

The papers are flying for Robert Solomon, former president of direct and interactive marketing at Ammirati Puris Lintas (now Lowe Lintas & Partners). He recently formed Strategy Press, a pub-lisher of books by and for advertising and marketing professionals.

The New York-based company’s first book, written by Solomon, is Brain Surgery for Suits: 56 Things Every Account Person Should Know. It is available at Amazon.com and at the www.strategypress.com Web site.

“I searched for a book that articulates basic principles of account management, but came up empty handed,” Solomon said. “So I wrote it myself.”

Already writing his second book, Rocket Science for Clients: How to Get Great Work From Your Agency, Solomon is seeking book ideas from industry people.

“One thing we’re not going to do—publish the advertising executive’s great American novel,” said Solomon, who also operates a marketing consultancy, Solomon Strategic. “But there are hundreds of potential authors in advertising with great book ideas and no easy way to get their ideas into print. I’m going to find the best ideas and help transform them into books.”
