Weather.com Promotes Fiveash, Green

NEW YORK The Weather Channel Interactive, which includes Weather.com, has promoted Joe Fiveash from head of product and business development to senior vice president and general manager.

In the new role, Fiveash, 41, will spearhead the company’s growth and expansion across Internet, desktop, subscription, broadband and wireless platforms. He fills the spot recently vacated by Debora Wilson, who now serves as chief operating officer at The Weather Channel Networks and The Weather Channel Interactive.

In his previous post, Fiveash forged key distribution partnerships with Yahoo!, MSN and Google, among others. Before joining the Atlanta-based company five years ago, he worked for The Weather Channel’s parent, Landmark Communications.

Also, Peter Green has been named vice president of sales for Weather.com, replacing Paul Iaffaldano, who has assumed the role of senior vice president of network sales and advertising product development. Green, 44, who joined the company in 1999, most recently managed the activities for the New York territory.

Existing employees have absorbed Green and Fiveash’s former responsibilities.
