LOS ANGELES Vivendi Universal Games, the software publisher responsible for video games including Half-Life and The Simpsons: Hit & Run, has awarded the media planning and buying portion of its advertising account to independent Horizon Media, sources said this week. The company will continue to assign creative work on a project basis.

For the past three years, the majority of VUG’s media and creative ad efforts have been handled by independent Kovel/Fuller, Culver City, Calif.
