WASHINGTON The U.S. Army has extended its advertising contract with Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett for another six months, an Army representative confirmed today.

The Army first put its estimated $180-200 million account into review in June 2004. But the Army tossed out the results April 22 because of “inconsistencies in the evaluation approach.” It then issued an RFI in May, which started the review process all over again.

The finalists from last year’s review were Burnett, Omnicom Group’s BBDO; Interpublic Group’s McCann Erickson; and WPP Group’s Grey, Ogilvy & Mather and Young & Rubicam.
