United Distillers Narrows Media Review

NEW YORK – United Distillers is believed to have narrowed the list of shops vying for a media-buying account that involves a consolidation of some of its brands which could be worth between $40 and $50 million. The review apparently is for media-buying only, not planning, and the company had initially invited several agencies that currently handle creative for some of its brands, as well as media-buying services. The company is now believed to have whittled down the list to include Leo Burnett Co., Chicago, which handles Dewars, and Grey Advertising, which handles Gordon’s Gin. Various media buying shops are also pitching the business.
