TNT on Tuesday will launch a 20-episode microseries called RPM, with talent (Jonathan Schaech, Lori Heuring and Brian White) and behind-the-scenes credentials (a scribe from The Closer, a Deadwood/Dexter director). But in reality, RPM is a carefully crafted branded entertainment vehicle that TNT and production company Mandalay Television have developed for Ford Motor’s Lincoln brand, one of the network’s advertising partners.

The microseries, also known as “commercials,” will air during four prime time episodes of Law & Order beginning Oct.
