Thomas & Perkins Diversifying

Denver Shop Riding With Titan Motorcycles
LOS ANGELES–Denver agency Thomas & Perkins is expanding beyond retail and packaged goods clients by adding Titan Motorcycle Co. of America to its roster.
The shop won the estimated $3 million account after four months of discussions with the motorcycle manufacturer.
The shop’s first steps to further establish the brand will focus on event management and public relations. Its first ad campaign is expected to break in early 1999, according to Rosemary Hanratty, an agency representative. It will likely consist mainly of print ads in national motorcycle enthusiast publications.
The agency, Titan’s first, will also handle sales promotions, direct marketing and interactive tasks for the Phoenix-based company.
“Since our inception, we have concentrated on building the finest V-twin motorcycle on the road,” said Mark Green, marketing director for Titan. “We are now ready to expand our branding efforts through a very capable marketing partner.”
The 4-year-old company has grown quickly, with sales topping $13 million last year and similar results expected this year. It markets high-end models that retail for $30,000-60,000.
The Titan account brings Thomas & Perkins’ annual billings to approximately $50 million.
