Temerlin McClain Restructures Its Resources

Temerlin McClain has created two new internal divisions to focus on customer relationship management and interactive marketing.
Deb Coulson, formerly of Rapp Collins in Dallas, has been named director of relationship management. Coulson will lead a group responsible for leveraging database marketing to develop customer loyalty programs, information resources and training.
James Hering, previously management supervisor on the American Airlines account, will head the interactive marketing resource group, which will include Web site development and online media planning and buying.
“What we’re really trying to create is an interdependency of programs,” said agency vice chairman and director of marketing and strategic planning Dennis Visich.
The Irving, Texas, agency is moving in the direction of creating “resource groups,” which will serve a restructured shop made up of account teams.
“We’re [taking] a business issue and asking what is the best way to address it using all the tools at our disposal,” said Visich.
“Everyone’s talking integration, talking relationships. For a whole bunch of years we’ve been cognizant of the role we play in building relationships with customers,” he added. “We want to create enough intelligence and insight to create core around which we can build something instead of taking what we’re doing and applying it to the Web.”
