Eastwood’s Golf Duds Get First Ad Partner
ATLANTA–Without a review, The Buntin Group in Nashville, Tenn., has been hired as the first ad agency for Tehama, a golf apparel company co-founded by actor Clint Eastwood and golf sportswear executive Nancy Haley.
Tehama, based in Glendale, Calif., has been handling all advertising and public relations internally. The firm held meetings last weekend to determine a marketing budget for the account.
Bob Shell, head of licensing for Tehama, would neither confirm nor deny a claim by agency principal Jeffrey Buntin that the account would bill between $3-5 million, saying only “there’s no question we are going to significantly increase our budget.”
Competitive Media Reporting lists 1998 spending at $64,000, with $52,000 spent in the first quarter of 1999.
Shell had previously worked with Buntin when he held a similar position with Duck Head Apparel, an account the shop no longer handles.
