Teeing It Up At Lake Wobegon

Minneapolis agency Colle & McVoy wants to turn the Land of Lakes into the Land of Links.
Last September, the Minnesota Department of Tourism awarded Colle & McVoy a small contract to find corporate promotion partners to increase tourism in the state. Recently, the agency unveiled partnerships between Minnesota golf courses and golf associations to promote the state as a golf destination.
Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis is the department’s agency of record.
Though the promotion is still in the beginning stages, Colle & McVoy has developed a logo and will place an insert in Golf Digest magazines being distributed in the upper Midwest, said Steve Cuddy, a senior vice president at the agency. The program, tagged “Explore Minnesota golf,” may expand nationally next year and begin to use more traditional advertising outlets, he added. –Aaron Baar
