Swiss Bank Looking For a Shop to Handle Its U.S. Account

Union Bank of Switzerland is reviewing the U.S. portion of its ad account, currently handled by Citigate Albert Frank.
UBS spent more than $7 million on advertising in the U.S. last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
David Walker, a representative at the bank’s U.S. headquarters in New York, confirmed the review, but declined to identify agencies invited to pitch for the print creative and media planning and buying account.
Executives at Citigate here could not be reached for comment. The shop’s ads for UBS, which do not carry a tagline, run primarily in business publications. Young & Rubicam handles the account overseas but that relationship could be affected by the agency’s win last week of Citibank’s global account. –Jennifer Comiteau
