NEW YORK Campbell’s Soup has signed soccer phenom Freddy Adu to appear in an ad campaign scheduled to break in the fourth quarter, the company confirmed.

Omnicom Group’s BBDO in New York will go into production on a TV spot featuring Adu towards the end of this month, said Campbell’s representative John Faulkner.

The spot will focus on the chicken noodle soup flavor, which is especially popular among kids, Faulkner said. Adu, 15, will also be part of a newspaper and magazine print campaign and an interactive effort on the Camden, N.J.,
