NEW YORK Independent Wieden + Kennedy has added a global assignment from Sharp Corp. without a review, sources said.

Wieden’s Tokyo office will oversee efforts for the client’s Aquos line of flat-screen television sets, and its outposts in Amsterdam, London, New York and the Portland, Ore., headquarters will all make creative contributions, sources said.

Sharp spent about $35 million in U.S. media in 2003, with about $15 million going to its Aquos line, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
