The Scooter Store Selects MARC/USA

DALLAS MARC/USA has been awarded the retail account of The Scooter Store, which sells “power chairs” and battery-operated carts for the infirm.

The client, which has been a direct response dealer since 1991, is currently launching a nationwide retail store expansion.

MARC’s Dallas office won the account of the New Braunfels, Texas-based company following a review against five undisclosed agencies, the shop said. The client continues to do direct response work with Warren Direct of Austin, Texas.

The shop is charged with developing an integrated communications plan to accompany the national expansion plan, the shop said. The Scooter Store has retail outlets in Houston and San Antonio and plans to open locations in other Texas markets before expanding nationwide, according to MARC Dallas’ senior vice president, Bill Meeder.

The first campaign elements will launch in August. Media components will include newspaper, point of sale, Yellow Pages and direct mail. Other media, including additional direct response work, will launch later.

The Scooter Store targets the mobility impaired and their caregivers, specifically those who are 50 and older. Billings are undisclosed.
