Richards Group Forms Alliance With Japan’s Oricom

The Richards Group has created a strategic alliance with Oricom Co., an ad agency in Japan.

Under the arrangement—which does not involve financial ex-changes—the two independent agencies will share insight on processes and practices.

Initially, two Oricom employees will join the Dallas agency in January for six months and assist with client work, according to shop principal Stan Richards.

“The larger gain for us is to un-derstand the prospective of the people who come here to learn,” he said.

Richards said his agency has no plans to enter the Japanese advertising market.

Jones Lundin Beals, a Chicago-based consultancy, recommended Richards and other U.S. agencies to Oricom.
