BOSTON The Republik said it has been hired by the Cumberland County BRAC Taskforce.

BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) is the congressionally mandated process by which the Department of Defense will close facilities and shift personnel. Cumberland County in North Carolina is one of few counties nationwide to allocate funds to BRAC recruitment.

The Republik, an independent shop in Durham, N.C., will handle an effort consisting mainly of banner and viral ads, Web site development and blog seedings, backed by a $500,000 budget.
