Regian Adds a Kids Media Pro

BBDO, McCann Vet Daniel to Head Buying
DALLAS–Regian & Wilson Advertising & Public Relations of Fort Worth, Texas, has designated a former BBDO and McCann-Erickson media specialist to direct its 10-person buying unit.
Regian & Wilson, a Grey Advertising-owned agency, hired Stephen Daniel, who arrives with more than 18 years of experience.
Daniel was formerly vice president of media services at McCann-Erickson Southwest in Houston. Most recently, he managed media for kids and teens brands at BBDO’s Team Frito-Lay in Dallas.
That experience will parlay well into his new post, since Regian & Wilson handles national kids marketing for Edina, Minn.-based International Dairy Queen. “Primarily, I liked the people I met here,” said Daniel. “That was important to me.”
Daniel said the Grey connection, and the national capabilities brought by Regian’s affiliation, was also a drawing card.
Daniel succeeds Linda Yarbrough. Yarbrough is stepping down from her full-time media director’s position of eight years to serve the shop part-time as a “virtual” media planner and buyer. She will telecommute from her home, said agency president Julie Wilson.
“We’re still looking to add a couple of senior people,” to work under Daniel, Wilson said.
Daniel was seeking a new post after his job was eliminated in a “reorganization” of Team Frito-Lay, both officials said.
Other accounts Daniel will handle media chores for are the Texas Dairy Queen Operators Council of franchisees and Pro-Cuts.
