NEW YORK WPP Group’s Red Cell is expanding its presence in Sweden with the acquisition of Stockholm-based agency Stenstroem, which will be aligned with Bates/Red Cell in Helsingborg, the company said.

Bates/Red Cell CEO Sten Andersen becomes CEO of both agencies, and Stenstroem founder Greger Stenstroem, who founded the agency in 1995, becomes deputy CEO.

In a statement, Andersen said, “We are delighted that Stenstroem is now part of Red Cell in Sweden. To have a base in Stockholm is critical to our development, but more important is to find a partner who shares our passion for creativity and great thinking.
