RDW Brings Angel Aboard for New Business

BOSTON Steve Angel has joined RDW Group as vice president of business development.

Angel comes to the Providence, R.I., shop from Butler, Shine & Stern, Sausalito, Calif., where he held a similar position.

“He has an understanding of the industry and an entrepreneurial bent, which are two key qualities for any new business person,” said agency president Mike Doyle, to whom Angel reports.

Angel replaces Tim Jermain, who has left the agency after only a few months in the position.

A native of Connecticut, Angel decided to return to New England to raise his family after nearly a decade on the West Coast. “He came knocking on our door and happened to be in the right place at the right time,” Doyle said.

“When you come to Providence, there are a couple of ad agencies that really stand out—great people, great work and great strategy [for winning new business],” Angel said. He cited RDW’s work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield as particularly outstanding. “That’s been an amazing story for both the agency and the client,” he said.
