Publicis Expands Indian Ops

Leaders from Glossier, Shopify, Mastercard and more will take the stage at Brandweek to share what strategies set them apart and how they incorporate the most valued emerging trends. Register to join us this September 23–26 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Levy (shown) is making good on his vow to ramp up operations in Asia, as the French holding company today said it has acquired a majority stake in two India-based agencies.

They are: 20:20 Media, a technology communications specialist, and 2020Social, a social media consultancy. The shops will become units of Publicis’ events and PR network, MS&L Group. Financial terms were not disclosed.

20:20 Media and 2020Social — employing more than 150 staffers combined and operating in several major Indian cities — will operate independently alongside MS&L’s existing in-market shop, Hanmer MS&L, a 400-person PR and communications network.
