PR Partners to Join Northlich

CHICAGO Independent agency Northlich said it would acquire independent Public Relations Partners, effective Nov. 1. Terms were not disclosed.

The two entities share a client in KeyBank, for which Cincinnati-based Northlich handles retail advertising and PRP of Cleveland provides public relations. Executives said the combination would bolster the two companies’ respective practices.

“We have admired PR Partners through work we’ve done together and as fellow members of the Worldcom Public Relations group,” said Richard Miller, president of Northlich’s public relations practice, in a statement. “In addition to adding each firm’s capabilities, we’re excited about the ability to better serve one of our most important clients, KeyBank.”

After a transition, PRP president Jim Sluzewski is expected to leave the firm to pursue a corporate opportunity. Kathy Taflinger Sluzewski, a founding partner of PRP, will serve as acting general manager of PRP’s Cleveland office and its 10-person staff until a permanent general manager is named.
