Pioneer Investments Taps Partners & Simons

BOSTON Pioneer Investments has named Partners & Simons for creative duties on its ad account. DiBona, Bornstein & Random, which has crafted the client’s recent campaigns, continues to handle media functions for Pioneer.

“We’ve got a history in financial services and [this is] a tremendous opportunity to continue to build on that,” said Walter Mills, a principal at the independently owned Boston agency.

The Boston-based client spent $1.5 million on ads in 2002, down from more than $6 million the previous year, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. Spending thusfar in 2003 is $400,000.

Partners & Simons has been tasked with creating television, print, direct mail and collateral materials. First work will likely break in the fall and will retain the position line from previous efforts, “Trust advice. Trust your advisor.”

A TV campaign last fall from DiBona, also in Boston, used that theme to focus on the importance of trust in today’s troubled economic climate. DiBona will handle media planning and buying, said Stan Bornstein, president of the shop.

“Partners & Simons has the depth and talent we need to respond to the marketing challenges we face as we continue to build our brand in a very competitive industry,” said Richard Sardelli, senior vice president and director of marketing communications at Pioneer.
