Pagano Maps Big Apple Move

BOSTON–Pagano Schenck & Kay is moving operations from Boston to New York, where it hopes to take better advantage of the integrated resources of its parent firm, Panoramic Communications.

Pagano Schenck & Kay lately has been pitching business outside New England with sister Panoramic shops and hopes to work more closely with them after the move, agency executives said.

Of the shop’s founding partners in 1986 in Providence, R.I. — Bob Pagano, Ernie Schenck and Woody Kay — only Kay, chairman and creative director, remains to make the move to Panoramic offices at 685 Third Ave.

Kay, Beau Fraser, president, Amy Swearingen, director of business development, and an undisclosed number of the shop’s 20 or so other employees will move in the next few weeks, agency executives said.

Pagano relocated to Boston in 1994, but despite its solid creative reputation, the shop was unable to grow beyond its regional roots, and was eventually acquired by Panoramic’s predecessor firm in August 1999. Panoramic also owns Earle Palmer Brown and Yesawich Pepperdine & Brown.

Pagano claimed $4.6 million in revenue for 1999, but executives declined to disclose current figures.

Clients the agency expects to retain include, Revenio Software and Counsumer Credit Counseling Services.
