Oscar Mayer, diving into the hot-dog-to-bun-parity discussion that’s blown up recently, isn’t offering to sell its hot dogs in packages of eight instead of 10 so they match the number of buns in a conventional bag.

But the heritage brand is saying it will launch a limited-edition package containing two buns so that consumers can finally have an equal number of hot dogs and buns. 

So, problem solved?

Not exactly, but it could be a temporary fix for frustrated consumers who have griped for decades about this snack food mismatch. And
