Organic Strengthens Creative Ranks

NEW YORK Organic has promoted creative director Collen DeCourcy to executive creative director and hired R/GA creative Patrick Stern as group creative director.

In the newly created post, DeCourcy, 39, will work on various clients and new business across the San Francisco-based interactive agency’s four offices. She will continue to be based in Toronto, where she has worked for the last three-and-a-half years, most recently, creating online campaigns for Bell Canada, Honda Element, Seiko and Sony Canada, among others.

This is the first time an executive has assumed the lead creative role at Organic since 2000, when Janis Nakano Spivack was the i-shop’s chief creative officer.

Prior to joining the Omnicom Group shop, DeCourcy was director of creative strategy at Integrated Communications and Entertainment in Toronto and New York, producing cross-platform media for clients like Wet Seal, PriceWaterhouseCooper’s and Air Canada.

As gcd, a new post, Stern, 37, will lead New York’s creative department, which handles clients like Reebok, Tommy Hilfiger and Coach. He has spent the last three years at Interpublic Group’s R/GA in New York, where he was co-creative director on Nike. While there, he also worked on Aveda, BBC America, IBM and Johnson & Johnson, among others.

Stern has “great strategic insights that come with the understanding of what consumers want from the Internet and he can turn them into brilliant customer experiences online,” said Adam Turinas, managing director of the New York office.
