Online Trader Taps Zimmerman for Ads

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. Omnicom Group agency Zimmerman Partners said it has been hired by online brokerage TradeStation for a multimedia marketing campaign that will break in the fall.

The ad budget was not disclosed. The client in Plantation, Fla., spent $1 million on ads in 2002, but had no measured spending in 2003 nor during the first half of this year, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. Competitors in the online brokerage space such as BrownCo and Scottrade have typically spent $10-20 million annually on measured media.

“Zimmerman Partners’ approach to business and initial insights into our company gave us a feeling of confidence that they could get the job done,” said Salomon Sredni, COO of TradeStation, in a statement.

Zimmerman in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was awarded the business following a review that included finalists Cooper & Hayes in Miami and Turkel Advertising in Coconut Grove, Fla. There was no incumbent.
