John Nieman has been appointed vice chairman, chief creative officer of DMB&B Worldwide, headquartered in New York. Neiman had been serving as both worldwide creative director and as chief creative officer of DMB&B in New York. Graham Woodall has also been elevated to executive vice president, executive creative director, DMB&B in New York from executive vice president, group creative director.
Foote, Cone & Belding, New York, has named Ron Bess to the newly created post of president. Bess had been president of FCB in Chicago.
DDB Needham, New York, reported the following new hires: copywriter David Lowe, who joined DDB from Arnold Communications in Boston; Kate Murphy, a senior writer, who worked at J. Walter Thompson and DDB in Chicago; copywriter Augie Cosentino, who comes from Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York; and copywriter Dan Cohen, from McCann-Erickson, New York.
Doug McMahon has rejoined J. Walter Thompson, New York, as executive vice president, working with chairman and chief executive officer Chris Jones and the agency’s worldwide client executive group. He was most recently executive vice president of the New York-based National Mall Network.
Michael Bianchi has joined DiNoto Lee, New York, as the shop’s first director of business development. Bianchi was most recently at TBWA Chiat/Day, New York, as an account director. Before that, he was a media planner at Stone & Simons Advertising in Southfield, Mich., and an assistant media planner at DMB&B, Detroit.

Swissair, Melville, has named Jacqueline Pash director of corporate communications, North America and Barbara Jacobsen as director of marketing services, North America. Pash is responsible for media activities in North America; Jacobsen oversees a team of seven specialists and coordinators who are responsible for corporate communications, product management, direct marketing, leisure traffic and research and planning.

She will work on projects for Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ transplant drugs. Michelle Ertischeck was also promoted to senior account executive in the healthcare division. Visa USA has named Robert Shapiro vice president, national media relations. A 10-year public relations veteran, Shapiro had been vice president at Principal Communications, a firm providing strategic communications, media relations and crisis communications counsel.
